Kimberly Allen Bobo

Kim Allen Bobo quietly passed away during her sleep on Oct. 7, 2023 in Knoxville, Tenn.

Her survivors include her husband Randal Bobo; son Chad Michael Bobo; her mother Betty Allen Kyle; and niece Ella Claire Allen.

She was preceded in death by her father John Allen in 1991 and her brother Gary Allen in 2015.

Kim was born in Richmond, Va., on Sept. 26, 1963, and came to Laurel with her parents in 1964.  She began her learning at Highland Baptist Church kindergarten, then started school at Mason Elementary School. She went on to Jones Junior High and graduated from R. H. Watkins High School in 1981, where she enjoyed being a flag girl. After graduating, Kim attended Jones County Junior College, but later married and began a family. Three years later they moved to Knoxville,  which Kim came to love.

In 2012, while working at a job she loved, Kim was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She later had to leave her job because of the disease. Over the years, the MS became worse, to the point that she could no longer care for herself at home alone.  She was placed in an assisted-living facility in the spring of 2022, near her home. Everything had to be done for her, but Kim accepted her life with much grace and dignity. She always had a smile on her face when anyone would come by.

Kim celebrated her 60th birthday recently and was in good spirits, never dreaming that her time on this earth was to be so short. We now know that she is in her heavenly home, no longer suffering the effects of such a debilitating disease. Now her old body is completely healed and she is finally her loving, happy self again.
