Jamie Foxx admits he 'wouldn't be here' without his sister who 'saved' his life

Jamie Foxx shared a sweet birthday tribute to his “courageous” sister Deidra Dixon on Instagram following his health scare in April. The actor’s heartfelt post has been praised by many fans.

The Hollywood star made sure to show his appreciation and love for his sister on her birthday after he went through a serious health complication a couple of months ago. Foxx previously revealed that Deidra and his daughter Corinne “saved” his life during the scary health emergency.

The White House Down actor, 55, posted a heartwarming birthday tribute to his sister Deidra and marked her special day with a string of images.

The first Instagram picture shows the pair embraced in a playful hug, while the rest of the carousel features selfies of Deidra.

“Happy birthday to my beautiful sister @frequency11 ‘D’,” the actor captioned his heartfelt post. “You are magical you are beautiful you are the courageous lionesses #leoseason.”

He continued: “And without you, I would not be here… had you not made the decisions that you made I would’ve lost my life…. I love you forever and ever. Happy birthday, sis.”

Foxx shared an update video

The birthday tribute marks Foxx’s first post on Instagram after he shared an update video to inform his fans about his condition and thank them for their prayers.

“To be honest with you, my sister Deidra Dixon, my daughter Corinne Marie saved my life,” the celebrity admitted in the clip. “So today, and to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video. I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way.”

“I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through,” he continued. “I know a lot of people were waiting and you know wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you I just didn’t want you to see me like that man.”

Actor’s health scare explored

Jamie was rushed to a hospital back in April after he experienced a serious medical complication, the actor’s daughter Corinne revealed on Instagram at the time.

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” Corinne wrote in a statement. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, the Foxx family.”

Corinne and Foxx were supposed to film the new series of Beat Shazam but their presenting roles have been temporarily taken by Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne.

Before the health emergency, Jamie was filming a new Netflix action comedy with Cameron Diaz.
